Cory & Nathan had long envisioned tying the knot beneath the giant Fig Tree for their Byron Bay Earth House Elopement. It’s a majestic and soulful venue nestled deep in the Byron Bay Hinterland. They were drawn to its raw natural beauty, rammed earth architecture, and the comfort of knowing that, rain or shine, this space would hold them.
As fate would have it, the skies opened the day before their wedding, with flash flooding across parts of the hinterland. But instead of panic, this brave couple leaned into the moment, and magic followed. It was really incredible.
Here’s how this Byron Bay Earth House Elopement unfolded:
- ☔ The ceremony was moved indoors, inside the sculptural rammed-earth walls of The Earth House — and it was breathtaking
- 👏 Nathan’s son took a starring role, adding joy and meaning to the moment
- 🌍 Loved ones from across the globe Zoomed in to witness the ceremony
- 📷 Between rain bursts, Van Middleton captured beautiful moments out in the paddocks and down a country lane
- 🌿 No sunset, no problem — soft overcast light made every frame cinematic
- ❤️ The vows were deep, the love was palpable, and the connection undeniable
- 🍋 A classic case of turning lemons into lemonade — and then some!
This Hitched in Paradise elopement is proof that sometimes, Plan B turns out better than anything you could’ve dreamed. The Earth House delivered in every way — and so did this incredible couple.
