Tweed Elopements on Cabarita Headland, perched high above the Pacific Ocean on the Tweed Coast, is one of our favourite ceremony and photo locations. With sweeping views in every direction, this elevated natural platform delivers drama, beauty, and quiet seclusion – all within walking distance of town.

Surrounded by pandanus palms, native grasses, and coastal cliffs, it’s the perfect blend of wild and accessible. From the headland, you can see down the coastline to Byron Bay, across to the Tweed Hinterland hills, and north to Kingscliff and beyond.

Ceremonies are held right on the grassy headland, ideal for elopements with up to 10 guests. It’s also a popular photo stop for couples getting married nearby at Cabarita Beach, Hastings Point, or Casuarina. The soft light at golden hour? Absolutely stunning.

For couples with little ones, we recommend having extra hands on deck – there are a few natural drop-offs near the edge.

Why couples love Tweed Elopements on Cabarita Headland:

  • 🌊 360° coastal + hinterland views from a single ceremony spot
  • 🌿 Grassy clifftop setting with a raw, natural vibe
  • 🚶‍♀️ Easily accessible, yet feels totally secluded
  • 🌬️ Sheltered pockets available on windy days
  • 🐾 Dog-friendly for your fur baby to tag along

📸 Perfect golden hour light + multiple photo angles within minutes

Whether you’re saying your vows on the headland or just stopping by for sunset portraits, Cabarita Headland is a Tweed Coast icon for a reason – it’s simple, stunning, and effortlessly romantic.

Jason & Kelly said I Do on one of our favourite spots on the Tweed Coast – the dramatic and breathtaking Cabarita Headland Elopement. With 360-degree views from the ocean to the hinterland, this elopement was pure, wild romance.

Their ceremony took place on a tiny natural ledge jutting out over the sea – a spot perfect for truly intimate gatherings, just lovers and the sounds of the waves below.

Here’s what made this Tweed Coast Cabarita Headland Elopement so memorable:

  • 💍 A heartfelt, stripped-back ceremony with just Jason, Kelly, and the view
  • 🌊 Waves crashing below and seabirds soaring overhead set the soundtrack
  • 🔺 A Copper Triangle arbor framed the scene perfectly
  • 🎤 Benjamin Carlyle brought calm, laughs, and love to the moment
  • 📸 After the vows, they wandered Cabarita Beach’s stunning pockets for golden hour portraits
  • 🌅 Chantel from Wanderer & The Wild captured every dreamy second
  • 🌸 Blooms by Lola’s Wildflowers and bridal beauty from Tina & Kristen added the finishing touches

🥂 The night ended with a romantic dinner for two – because that’s how eloping in paradise should feel

After the Vows, rings and kiss were shared on Casuarina Beach, Deon and Miranda went on a photographic adventure with Pineapple images, on the open beach just south of Kingscliff up to the epic headland of Cabarita Beach.

All just a short 5 minute drive, so much diversity and natural beauty!! Nothing beats finishing your shoot on Norries Headland, as the golden light kicks in and you have a 360 degree view of all the paradise that the Tweed Coast offers.
